Iron-on hem tape

Our free iron-on hem tape is the ideal solution for shortening or adjusting your garments quickly and easily. Is your abaya too long? No problem! With our instructions, your garment will fit perfectly again.

Directions:

1. If you want to shorten a piece of clothing, you can choose one that is already the perfect length. First, place the pieces of clothing on top of each other or determine your individual clothing length in another way.

2. Before shortening your garment, remember to leave a little extra fabric so that you have enough material to fold. This will allow you to easily place the hem tape between your layers of fabric without making your garment too short. Now shorten your garment to the desired length using scissors.

3. Now turn the garment inside out (inside of your garment facing outwards).

4. Cut the hem tape to the desired length. You can also divide the hem tape into several sections.

5. Place the hem tape between the layers of fabric to be joined. It is best to fix the hem tape with a few pins so that nothing slips. Make sure that the hem tape is well or evenly covered by the fabric and that no parts of the hem tape are visible, otherwise it will stick to the iron.

6. Now use an iron on medium heat to fix the hem tape. Press the iron firmly for about 15 seconds. Please stick to this time, otherwise the hem tape may come off after washing! Don't forget to remove the pins section by section.

7. Allow the garment to cool and check the adhesion of the hem tape.

8. It would be best if you also use a sewing machine to fix it in place.
